New Life Foundation | Three Years of New Life
We had an absolute blast at our three year anniversary birthday celebrations concluding weekend. Many cheers from the New Life community to all who were involved in planning the event and to all the residents, guests, and volunteers who participated so enthusiastically. It was really beautiful seeing everyone allow go of their inhibitions and accept such a nifty time during the games that Claire, Doreen, and Janell organised. What a testament to team spirit! Everyone looked fantastic in their costumes, which made us experience a fleck like nosotros were on the set of Lost or Survivor. We would besides like to express our gratitude to Areerat from the Yoga Tree studio in Chiang Mai for her hip-shaking, soul-stirring dance mandala and biodanza sessions.
We had never seen so much nutrient disappear then fast equally during the Mexican feast, which featured spicy beans and tortillas, roast potato salad, guacamole, salsa, grilled vegetable skewers, and of course, birthday cake. All that running effectually must have made anybody ravenous. Some intense bidding occurred during the after-dinner sale, on prizes kindly and creatively offered by our community members. Upwardly for grabs was everything from healing massages to photography sessions, dinner dates at Michelin-starred restaurants, dutch pancakes, original art, and much more.
Funds raised went towards the planting of the Bodhi tree on the island in the lake next to our rice fields (which our ducks accept appropriated as their hangout). Information technology was a large operation and a very special moment. The Bodhi is a sacred fig tree under which the Buddha, Siddartha Gautama, attained enlightenment, or nirvana. It's a potent symbol for usa at New Life because it represents our mission – helping others find peace and meaning within themselves. Nosotros've been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to bring a touch on of nirvana to people'south lives for iii years. We promise to be able to do so for many more.
